ROB launches IYD campaign


ITANAGAR, June 20: Regional Outreach Bureau and its field units International Day of Yoga in various towns in Arunachal Pradesh today.

Staff members, their family member and neighboring household who took part were demonstrated simple yoga ashanas and explained their benefits.

ROB director Dr H.R. Keshavamurth here coordinated field outreach bureau (FOB) of Tawang, Bomdila, Ziro, Tezu, Aalo and Pasihat to organize the event in their respective campus.

FOBs have tied up for special campaign in schools on Thursday where public rally, quiz and elocution and painting competition will be held. Yoga teachers have been identified to demonstrate ashanas while experts talk about benefits of yoga in daily life.

International Yoga Day (IYD) celebration will be conducted at Tawang Katurba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya for secondary school students, 700 Kendriya Vidyalaya students at Singchun, GTC Govt. secondary school at Pasighat,  Amik Ringya Cultural Hall at Tezu,  at Abo Tani Hall in Ziro in collaboration with district administration  and RKM School in Aalot.

India is celebrating IYD  on June 21 since 2015. But ther UN accepted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plea to designate a day as IYD for the world take advantage of India’s traditional art. Thus, UNESCO has recognized it as intangible Cultural heritage of humanity. (ROB)
