ITANAGAR, June 29: Arunachal Pradesh press fraternity on Friday strongly condemned alleged stealing of copies of Echo of Arunachal’s Friday edition by an unidentified person.
An unidentified man illegally entered the office on early Friday morning and stole the office copies of from office premise. Besides Echo of Arunachal, copies of Independent Review meant for local vendors were also missing.
The theft, was captured by CCTV cameras outside Echo of Arunachal office, was apparently executed to seize the publication of an NIT issued by PWD capital division-B EE (vide No CDB/NIT/2018-19). The same NIT was uploaded to IPR directorate official website.
The press fraternity has lodged an FIR with Itanagar police station against the unidentified person and urged the GoAP, the police department in particular to take strict action against the culprit(s), and, if he is found to be associated with any registered firm, to blacklist the firm, so that others may refrain from resorting to such criminal activity.
The press fraternity also appealed to the people, especially civil work contractors, to refrain from such criminal activities and raise their voice against such practices which undermine the core democratic values of equal rights and equal opportunity.
