Install advance landing system at Pasighat: Governor  to Prabhu

ITANAGAR, Aug 30:  Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) B D Mishra, in a letter, has drawn attention of Union Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu to install advance landing system at Pasighat for round the clock operation of commercial flights.

Pasighat is only operational airport for fixed winged aircraft passenger service in the state with Alliance Air’s ATR-42 aircrafts are operating from Guwahati thrice a week on alternate days now, the letter said, adding frequent cancellations have been reported in media since commencement in May last.

Terming Arunachal Pradesh bordering China as a trategic and important frontier state, the governor said that such service would be not only in state interest for medical emergencies but also serves  defence purpose in this land-locked state. (PRO)
