Record visitors watch Assembly proceedings

ITANAGAR, Aug 30: The visitors’ gallery of state legislative Assembly recorded packed visitors right from beginning till end to watch proceedings, particularly passing of the bill to approve creation of three new districts – Pakke-Kessang, Lepa-Rada and Shi-Yomi. Such presence is rarely seen in the Assembly. Deputy Speaker Tumke Bagra while admitting on Thursday said that many visitors had to go back as all seats were occupied.

If ‘Government is for the people, of the people and by the people’, as defined by former USA president Abraham Lincoln is true, such presence indicated that the masses have showing keen interest as ‘Team Arunachal’.

Though former governor Gen J J Singh was first to conceive the ‘Team Arunachal’ concept and advocated right from day one during his fist district tour to Khonsa, but the credit for implementing it in true sense goes to present Chief Minister Pema Khandu, his team including executive head chief secretary Satya Gopal.

However, I would like to remind him that the promise, given by DyCM Chowna Mein on his behalf during first press conference 16.07.16, responding to my plea to install late Dorjee Khandu’s statue within Civil Secretariat complex, is yet to be fulfilled. When Civil Secretariat is standing tall facilitating good governance as greatest contribution of former people’s CM, was the plea wrong? Is this daily’s editor not member of ‘Team Arunachal’?
