Sarkar Aapke Dwar records huge gathering  

DEED, Sept 07: Goan buri Neelam Yania inaugurated first Jan Sunwai Summelan (Sarkar Aapke Dwar) at picturesque Deed village, 52-km away from Lower Subansiri district HQs Ziro on Friday which witnessed a massive turnout.

“This is a blessing, especially for old people like me. The treacherous 30-km drive to Yachuli for basic documents is taxing on our old bodies,” said 62-year-old GB holding counterfoil for AADHAR registration.

Of the 23 departments which took part in the event, horticulture department distributed farming tools to 100 beneficiaries and provided 150 new registration forms for the farmers; district health society conducted eye screening for cataract, vision,  blood tests and distributed basic and generic medicines; food and civil supply distributed free LPG connections to seven beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjawala Yojana, forms for 200 new LPG connections and 147 for ration card renewal; 97 enrolled under various schemes of women & child development department, awareness materials & handouts on POSCO,  JJ, sexual harassment of women, domestic violence etc distributed; education department awed the locals with their smart classroom demonstrations,  distributed text books & pamphlets on CM’s flagship programs;  disaster management & transport departments odistributed handouts on safety measures;  Department of Textile and Handicrafts registered 32 under various schemes; PHED distributed water testing kits, APEDA distributed 800 LED bulbs & 4 fans at subsidized rates; animal husbandry & veterinary department offered medicines for 215 livestock & vaccinated 10 pet animals; 21 applied for new job cards under DRDA’s MGNREGA and seven submitted documents for BDT.
