179 traffic wardens trained in PTC

BANDERDEWA, Set 29: In all 179 Itanagar traffic wardens (ITW) in 10 batches received week-long training at Police Training Centre (PTC) which concluded here on Saturday.

While Informing about this  to this daily,  PTC principal S Choudary said that the training covered physical toughening, drill, traffic drill, knowledge of motor vehicle Act, road traffic signal, parking rules and human behaviour.

The training will make ITWs efficient for betterment traffic management to ease traffic congestion and provide solace to the commuters.

DSP (training) Dusu Kaling and SI K P Sharma and Chanchal Singh were present.

Meanwhile, the PTC conducted a sensitization programme for 60 fresh recruits to help them to know about the client handling, hospitality & etiquette, ILP and protected area (PAP) permits.

Tourism department assistant director Bengia Mana Sonam, speaking as resource person, highlighted various topics to widen knowledge of all participants. Arunachal, a treasure trove of natural flora and fauna with unique cultural diversity, offers vast scope of growth of tourism which calls for proactive role of police, she reasoned.

Besides Choudhary, tourism department officers S K Kar and Duyir Yedi also spoke.
