MWS seeks justice for late Modi

PASIGHAT, Sep 29: A delegation of Modi Welfare Society (MWS) led by its president Jokut Modi and GS, Sonyung Modi called on DIGP (central range) here on Friday last and in a representation urged him to speed up probe of hit and run case of late Karik Taruk of Seram village on February 23 last during Ali Aye Ligang festival celebration.

He was hit by a black colour Scorpio from behind and killed on the spot while he was peeing. The Scorpio is owned by one Vinood Paswan of Tinsukia while its driver was identified as one Ganeshyam Baruah, s/o Prodip Baruah of Moran, Dibrugarh, Assam, the MWS informed him while seeking justice.

Questioning the police for their inability to arrest the culprits even after lapse of seven months even after knowing his identity, the delegates sought early arrest of the culprits and facilitate exemplary punishment to grant justice to the bereaved family.
