Ering urges Goel to start stalled railway project

NEW DELHI, Nov 29: Lok Saba member Ninong Ering, in a letter, reminded Union Railways Minister Piyush Goel of his earlier letters regarding construction of train lines from Murkong Selek to Pasighat and beyond.

Land acquirement from Murkong Selek (in Assam) to Pasighat has been completed till Ngorlung and Niglok, an industrial site in Arunachal Pradesh, but the project has been stalled due to delay in further land acquirement for land compensation rates.

“I have appealed to you in writing several times because the dream project of Prime Minister will not be successful until Pasighat, Roing, Namsai, Rupai and Tinsukia are connected. Hence, laying of railway tracks may be initiated in acquired land till Niglok to resume the stalled project which will help in process of acquiring the remaining land till Pasighat.
