Capital police nabs 2 drug peddlers again

NAHARLAGUN, Nov 29: Capital Police continuing its tirade against drug menace arrested two active drug peddlers again on Monday last.

The accused are Kukhal Jurai, S/o Lt Bhuvan Jurai of Damsite here and Deepak Nath, S/o Lt M R Nath of Itanagar Police Colony, as the duo was already under watch. A case (No-119/18 u/s 120(b) IPC r/w Sec- 21(b) NDPS Act and 25(1A) Arms Act) has been registered with police station here, Papum Pare & Capital SP in-charge Tumme Amo said.

Ten grams suspected heroine was seized from their possession after they were caught in a trap by a team led by SI Sushant Saurabh Jha under supervision of PS OC inspector Nikom Riba and SDPO Make Bui.

The police team has already arrested five persons including Guwahati-based drug supplier in this case and recovered an illegal 9mm Chinese made pistol and around 100 grams heroine from their possession, Amo said, adding the success was after consistent efforts to nab all peddlers linked to the supplier.

Hinting at more arrests, Amo exhorted the youth to refrin from drugs  which not only affect the health abut ruin economic condition too.
