Badminton coaching camp begins

TEZU, Jan 03:  A month-long free badminton coaching camp for children (7-15 years), themed “Catch them young”, begun at Kalikho Pul Memorial Indoor Badminton Hall here on Wednesday.

The free winter coaching camp was organised by the Lohit District Badminton Association under the aegis of ASBA involving state level badminton champion Gita Karki as coach.

Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Dr Mohesh Chai, in his inaugural address, expressed his happiness for conducting such camp to hone up skills of young ones to showcase their talent. The talent of young players needs to be tapped at the young age, so that they can be coached to play at the national level, he also, adding that many talented players are not able to utilize their potential for lack of right platform and proper guidance. He asked all young player enrolled for the camp to take the maximum benefits of the camp. He lauded Sports Authority of Arunachal for placing  Karki for free badminton coaching camp at Tezu. He hoped that such free coaching camp will be held regularly in the district to tap many new young talents. Many young players, enrolled for the camp, along with their parents were very enthusiastic.
