Capital surveyor Kacho dies at 86   

TARASSO, Feb 11: Social worker Yab Kacho, one of the surveyors to set up capital in Itanagar on being shifted from Shillong, passed away at 9.30 pm at his native residence in Pempla village on Sunday last after prolonged illness.

Son of late Yab Sarda, he was 86, and is survived by three wives (two died earlier), 10 sons, 12 daughters and many grandsons and daughters.

He was an active social and associated with various social welfare activities and development of Taraso and Balijan circles and served as Pempla GB, GPM and ASM of undivided Subansiri district. He was also founder-chairman of Pempla Nydar Namlo under Tarasso circle.

A wave of shock spread in the area with family members and members of Tarasso Circle Goan Bura Welfare Association, Tarasso Circle Youth Association, All Papum Poma Students’ Union deeply mourning over his sad demise and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.

His demise has created a huge vacuum in the state; Nyishi society in particular, said a well wisher.  Camdir Welfare Society president Teli Tada Camdir, in a release, said that he worked for socio-economic the development of both circles besides granting justice with his vast experience in local traditional laws. He will always be remembered for his good deeds and humble nature”. His last rite will be performed at his Tarasso residence at 12 noon on Tuesday, Tada added.
