SSA holds Bhagawat recitation for global peace

GUWAHATI, Feb 11:  A six-day nonstop Bhagawat recitation and sankirtan begun at Shanti Sadhan Ashram (SSA) located at Basishta here on Saturday at the initiative of SSA founder-chairman Bhimbhai.

Addressing hundreds of people from different parts of Assam and 10 students pursuing Indian culture led by Shri Shri Madav Dev from Maharashtra,  Bhimbhai underscoring the importance of the divine event said that it aims at peace and prosperity of the humanity.

Every human being while remaining busy in daily chores craves and strives for mental peace and such event serves as platform to ignite innermost self of man taking him/her nearer the almighty, he said as the gathering maintained eerie silence, punctuated by only Bhagawat recitation.

“May god bless you all with health, long life, peace, prosperity and self-realisation,” he concluded.

The recitation would conclude on February 17 with staging of a dance-drama – Danabira Harischandra – by Srimanta Shanakara Dev Ayimatri Samuha, a woman group from Dhemaji district, sponsored by a sufferer as per his vow.
