Body of late EE’s wife found | Samples sent for forensic test: SP

NAHARLAGUN, Feb 19: Samples of mortal remains of Hage Akha was sent to outsider forensic laboratory for test to ascertain the cause of her death after conducting post-mortem on Tuesday, Capital SP Harsh Vardha said.

Body of Hage Yami, wife of late RWD executive engineer Hage Akha, and serving as a contingency employee of RWD, was found from Barapani River behind Helipad colony here on Monday.  The general public, who saw the body, informed the police and a police team had reached the spot at 11.30 am, taken the body for identification, informed relatives, conducted inquest and kept it in Itanagar RKM Hospital morgue, he informed.

Interrogations are on as a case of unnatural death was registered at Naharlagun police station. Though no signs of injury were found on her body, but investigations have been launched from all angles, he added.

She was appointed on compassionate ground after the death of her husband due to health ailments on 31.10.17. One of her acquaintances expressing deep shock over her death, said: “She was a good human being and mother of three grown up children. Thus, the incident is very disheartening”. She also informed about items recovered near her body.

APSCW seeks speedy probe

Meanwhile, the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women (APSCW) members visited Naharlagun police station on Tuesday to inquire about the above dead body found floating in Barapani River and OC D Dolum informed that the body was sent for post mortem.

While urging the law enforcing agency to complete probe expeditiously to occurrence of such incidents time and again and conveyed its condolences to bereaved family. It urged all sections of the society to cooperate with the police, according to an APSCW release.
