Voluntary retirement case comply order by Mar 15: HC

NAHARLAGUN, Mar 13: GoAP chief secretary Satya Gopal and PWD commissioner Bilatee Pertin, who made personal appearances before Itanagar permanent bench of Gauhati High Court here on Wednesday, were directed to “pass appropriate orders on March 15 next and present a copy of the same on next date of hearing posted on March 18”.
HC presiding judge Sanjay Kumar Medhi gave the order, a copy of which was available with this daily, after hearing contempt case No (C) 6 (AP)/2019 With IA (C) 23 (AP) 2019 – Tai Nikio Vs Bilatee Pertin -, relating to voluntary retirement of PWD executive engineer Tai Nikio.
The CS placed before the HC copy of the not sheet dated 09.03.19 by which the approval of the competent authority has been sought for compliance of order dated 21.01.19.
“This court will have no other alternative but to pass appropriate orders under the Contempt of Court’s Act, 1971. This present appearance of the officers before the court is hereby dispensed with the rider that in case of failure of passing the compliance order their presence would be necessary on March 18 next”, the order added.
It may be mentioned here that Nikio, who has served for 27 years, had applied for voluntary retirement from service on 31.04.18 on domestic grounds.
