Man allegedly hurts wife grievously with mother

*Victim’s father seeks speedy justice

PASIGHAT, Apr 20: One Anand Taloh of Rani village allegedly had attempted to kill his wife Yalik Siram Taloh with the help of his mother Oyon Ering Taloh in a domestic violence incident reported in March 3rd week.

A case (No 82/19 U/S 307/34 IPC) was registered against son-mother duo with Pasighat police station on Friday on the basis of an FIR lodged by victim’s father Nalo Siram of Mirem village. The FIR said that “his daughter married to Taloh was brutally beaten at around 6.30 PM on March 22 last causing grievous head injury.

“She was left naked and locked up in a room to die. A video clip was sent to Nalo by Anand Taloh claiming that his daughter is behaving waywardly on getting intoxicated.The victim regained consciousness after 10 hours next day which reflected an attempt to cover up their crime”.

While narrating the ordeal of his daughter, Nalo told this reporter that, his family members went to meet her on her repeated complaints, but her in laws did not allow them to meet her, saying that she had ran away from home leaving her three daughters including a six-month-old baby.

However, in fact she was hidden and locked up in a room and her condition was deteriorating.  “On March 30, we finally rescued our daughter who was almost in a serious condition and we rushed her to Bakin Pertin General Hospital here and later referred to Dibrugarh. She  required treatment including multiple stitches on her head”, claimed Nalo and appealed to authorities concerned to take appropriate action against those responsible to grant speedy justice to my daughter.

Meanwhile, strongly condemning the inhumane act, Nino Welfare Society secretary general Ocean Gao has sought help of State Commission for Women chairman for speedy justice to the victim.

Confirming registration of the case, Pasighat PS OC inspector Atan Taki, when contacted,   said that mother-in-law was interrogated on Friday evening and search is on for absconding but Anand Taloh.
