Itanagar candidates assures peace during vote counting

ITANAGAR, May 16: Itanagar assembly seat contesting candidates of Techi Kaso (JD-U), Yumlam Achung (INC), BJP, JD(S) and NPP election agents on Thursday assured  to extend their full cooperation to Capital Complex distrivt administration and also refrain from indulging in activities so as to maintain peaceful atmosphere during vote counting on May 23 next.

Their assurance came during a meeting convened by DC Himanshu Gupta, who reasoned that cutting should be peaceful the way simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly election was conducted on April 11 last. He also sought cooperation of denizens for maintaining a conducive and peaceful atmosphere to facilitate smooth process, which was reiterated by SP Tumme Amo.

When there was no violence during elections, the same situation would be created; the candidates said and disclosed that they have asked their supporters to maintain peace and tranquility. EACs Hengo Basar (Itanagar) and Choiki Dondup (election) attended the meeting. (DIPRO)
