Cancel re-poll held at Gaa, not at Nampe: Taram to ECI

ITANAGAR, May 22: Koloriang NPP candidate Pani Taram, in a letter to ECI on Wednesday, sought cancellation of polling of Nampe polling booth (PB) conducted on Tuesday at Gaa, not the designated PB.

The polling instead of Nampe was conducted at Gaa village, 12-km away from Nampe as the polling team left Damin at 5 am for Nampe, an eight hours foot march, and could not reach Nampe, as suspension bridge over Pania River along the only way to Nampe was destroyed by his rival supporters.

The polling team reached Gaa village and conducted re-polling there and returned to Damin at 6 pm, the letter claimed justify his plea for cancellation and desist from counting, the ECI letter made available to the press said.
