DOIMUKH, Sep 10: Cleanliness is directly related to climate change and global warming as people have been dirtying rivers, surroundings and destroying the forests for personal gains without worrying about consequences, Doimukh MLA Tana Hali Tara said after launching Swachh Survekshan Grameen (SSG) 2019 for Papum Pare district here on Tuesday.
Such activities have been increase casting negative effect on climate change, he said, and stressed on cleanliness to save environment for good health of all living beings. He exhorted the people to keep river and streams clean as most of the diseases emanates from water sources. Thus, all should motivate their families to dispose garbage to maintain cleanliness of surroundings.
highlighting importance of SCG, PHE&WS Capital Circle SE urged everyone to join hands to make Papum Pare the cleanest district of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched Swacch Bharat Abhiyan on 02.10.14 to fulfil Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of clean India by 02.10.19, coinciding with150th birth anniversary of the father of the nation. The GoI has entrusted an independent agency to carry out survey to find out status of cleanliness,” he said urged all to be part of this movement by maintaining cleanliness and y giving regular feedback.
ADC Tabang Bodung earlier praised the effort of PHE&WS in the movement while Yupia PHE&WS division EE Tadar Ukap sought cooperation of one and all. Dustbins were distributed to the beneficiaries while the guests planted saplings in and around Rono ground.
