IAF honours those helped in finding AN-32 wreckage

AALO, Sept 19: The Indian Air Force at adduced landing ground here on Wednesday felicitated all civilians involved in search and recovery of wreckage of ill-fated AN-32 that crashed at Pari Mountain near Gate village on June 3 last.

Eastern Command Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Air Marshal R.D Mathur, who facilitated them, said that the IAF is indebted to the state administration led by chief minister, Chief Secretaries, DCS and SPs of Siang, West Siang and Shi-Yomi districts and all those who were directly or indirectly involved in locating the crash site, recovering the mortal remains along with black box and personal belongings of the crew members.

Air Marshall Mathur gave them certificate of commendation and cash award each as announced earlier.

DLRSO Pumek Ronya, then Kaying in-cCharge EAC received Rs. 1 lakh, on behalf of Siang administration to be distributed among the ground search team. Tadut Tachung who gave the crucial input on AN-32 was awarded Rs.1.5 lak. Cash Award of Rs. 35,000 with commendation certificate and AOC-in-C medal was awarded to

Ever esters Taka Tamut and Kishon Tekseng were awarded Rs. 20,000 with certificate of appreciation each; mountaineers Tagung Tamut, Talik Darung & Okenma Mize were also awarded Rs. 15,000 each with certification of appreciation; Gaseng HGB Gate and Payum were awarded Rs. 50,000 each on behalf of people who were engaged in search operation.

West Siang DC Swetika Sachan, Siang SP Kushal Pal Singh along with APEDA Dy director Somar Potom and DLR&SO Pumek Ronya who were instrumental in month long aerial and ground operation were also present. (DIPRO)
