KIMIN, Sept 29: The first ever project monitoring committee (PMC) meeting to review progress of ongoing projects of biotechnology department and Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science &Technology (DBT-APSCS&T) Centre here on Saturday.
The expert committee including GoI biotechnology department advisor Dr. Mohamad Aslam, Gaziabad-based AcSIR director Dr. R. S. Sangwan, former ICAR director
Dr. J L Karihaloo and Hyderabad-based LVPEI director Dr.S.Shivaji had thorough deliberation with project director Dr. Debajit Mahanta, team of scientists and administrative staffs.
Former APSCS&T chairman Bamang Mangha earlier appraised the PMC about the projects and progress made so far. The GoAP has been extending full support, he added.
APSCS&T director-cum-member secretary C.D. Mungyak, in his address, said that the department is working with determination for result oriented and progress of scientific intervention for state development. He sought support for all future endeavors.
The PMC suggested convergence between societal needs and research in the Centre and utilize available bioresources for sustainable development of the state.
