Students hold cultural rally against CAA

ITANAGAR, Jan 24: Hundreds of students, belonging to various indigenous tribes and representing various universities, took out a cultural rally here on Friday to protest against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and alleged that it would change demography of the region, state in particular.

Holding banners, posters and shouting slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the protesters said that it hit hard future of indigenous tribes. They also shouted slogans Union MoS (Sports & Youth Affairs) Kiren Rijiju and Chief Minister Pema Khandu over their stoic silence on the CAA.

Demanding revocation CAA, they sought support of all sections of the society to raise their voice against ill affect of the CAA.

RGU, NERIST, DNGC students’ leaders, addressing the rally, said that the unconstitutional and contentious CAA is an imminent threat to the cultural, ethnic and linguistic values of  indigenous tribes across the NE India.
