NAHARLAGUN, Jan 30: The M/s T K Enterprise Consortium Pvt Ltd (TKE) has tightened its belt to accelerate the process to complete four-lanning of National Highway-415 by its targeted completion time of September next, said its chairman-cum-managing director Ratu Techi.

The  ongoing  works irrespective of inclement weather  are visible and indicative of commitment by all involved in the process, Techi told this editor while reviewing work progress with senior engineers and supervisors in his chamber here on late Wednesday night despite ill health.

Asked to explain, he said that over 500 staff including engineers and supervisors engaged shift-wise for which 70 percent works has been complete and black topping of Itanagar stretch begun. They are supported by about 250 staff working in crashing plant, hot mixture plant, mechanical operation and logistic support at Mani village.

Recalling the agreement signed by PWD (Highway-Western zone) CE Toli Basar and TKE general manager (HQs) P K Roy on 22.05.17 to build Itanagar-Banderdewa 4-lane highway, he said that the project was 10.9-km Chandranagar-Papu Nallah (Jully tri-junction) on engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) mode, including design chainage 29/500 to 40/400 (Itanagar-Bandredewa section) under 2016-17 plan of package-A.

“The infrastructure sector, particularly road and advanced landing grounds being growth propeller of this land-locked state, are on its top priority of the state government and monitored constantly. Thus, I opted for voluntary retirement from service on July 31 last to take over its (TKE) management charge,” he said.

Admitting to prolonged traffic congestion along Naharlagun-Itnagar stretch, he said: “We have withdrawn men and machines from other projects to work in this prestigious project, besides using additional resources. The works could be completed as scheduled only with whole hearted support of the masses. The NH-415 on completion would offer congestion-free pleasure ride”.
