RGU to start new courses

RONO HILLS, May 21:  The Rajiv Gandhi University will start new courses from 2020-21 academic session as planned by vice chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha.

The RGU has recently got approval for 46 faculty positions for existing departments besides introducing sports anthropometry, sports biochemistry, sports biomechanics & performance analysis, sports nutrition and sports physiology under sports science & sports medicine of union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under MYAS National Centre of Sports Sciences and Research (NCSSR).

The RGU is making endeavour to be the centre of excellence in sports science education & research is as it would be the first of its kind in Northeast India. An eight-member team led by registrar is working to make the report for proposed courses to be submitted to the academic council meeting for academic clearance.

Prof. Kushwaha who is confident of improving quality of education as well as special emphasis on much needed vocational courses, wishes to introduce few post graduate courses in music, fine arts and geology from the next academic session.

The varsity has been adding one after another feather in its academic cap since Prof Kushwaha assumed charge in October 2018, according to an RGU release.
