YUPIA, Jun 03: Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso distributed horticultural inputs, like fencing materials, orange seedlings, farmers of his assembly segment under CM’s Sashakt Kisan Yojana 2019-20 at Borum, near here on Wednesday.
Kaso, in his address, lauded district horticultural department, the organizer of the event, and advised the beneficiaries to properly utilize the materials to become self reliant and self sufficient in long run. But, he cautioned them to not to misuse the inputs like barbed wires and seedlings.
On COVID-19 lockdown, he termed it a great lesson to retrospect priorities, particularly farming sector. The Govt is promoting agri-horti & allied activities, which calls for strengthening farming sector to sustain livelihood and economic uplift.
Exhorting the farmers to work hard with dedication to become self-sufficient, he highlighted about long term benefits of horticultural crops and exhorted them to focus attention on organic cultivation to meet local needs.
District horticulture officer in-charge Joram Bath informed that each farmer was given 350 kg barbed wires, orange seedling (310 pieces), areca nut (680 pieces), pepper cuttings (680 pieces) and pine apple suckers under CMSKY schemes. The benefits are given phase-wise to all farmers of Doimukh, Balijan, Kimin, Sagalee sub-divisions. (DIPRO)
