We can’t remain locked for a long: DC

TAWANG, Jun 04: “While living with COVID-19 pandemic, we have to maintain physical distancing and adopting all prescribed precautions to bring life back to normalcy” Tawang DC Sang Phuntsok said here on Thursday.

Addressing a meeting attended by DDSE, principals of Dorjee Khandu Govt College, Lungla and Tawang GHS schools, block education officers, teacher in-charges of various Govt schools, he exhorted all to comply with the GoAP order regarding reopening of educational institutions.

“We can’t remain locked for a long time but have to bring back normalcy by learning to live with COVID with precautions and brining mass awareness. Teachers could play an important role to educate the people who are afraid because of their ignorance.

“Only one positive asymptomatic case has been detected in Tawang, but there are chances of the number getting increased with rising number of returnees, who should be educated on various precautions by discouraging social stigmas,” the DC added.

“It is good to restart the schools, but we have to be very careful in following standard operating procedures (SOPs)”, DMO Dr. Wangdi Lama said while DDSE Hridhar Phuntsok asked all teacher in-charges to take suggestions from all SMDC members and parents regarding re-opening of schools for a final decision.
