ITANAGAR, Aug 01: Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday advocated widespread public awareness and education to prevent loss of lives and property from natural disasters while reviewing activities of State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) here on Saturday
He urged to strengthen Aapda Mitra scheme to impart skill training on disaster preparedness to community volunteers.
The review included strengthening fight against COVID-19 besides status of its proposed HQs at Hollongi and five regional response centres across the state. The CM thanked Union MoS Kiren Rijiju for his contribution for a permanent headquarters of NDRF battalion in the state.
