Don’t extend lockdown: AACWA

ITANAGAR, Aug 01: The All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA), in a memorandum to chief secretary, urged not to extend lockdown beyond August 3 next.

Highlighting that the lockdown imposed since March 25 last has hit hard the traders, contractors, daily wagers, petty traders, road-side vendors and hospitality and food sectors, the AACWA suggested process to avoid crowding in the market; strict vigilance against violators of SOPs; extension of antigen test timing at police check gates; adopting home quarantine model as it has become  increasingly difficult for the business community to deliver goods under such duress without any government aid and support.

If it continues unabated, the AACWA will be forced to look for democratic alternatives, the memo added.

Interestingly, the AACWA demands are similar to that of Arunachal Chamber of Commerce & Industry placed on Friday.
