COVID-19 cases surge to 7,250

NAHARLAGUN, Sept 19: With 211 fresh COVID-19 positive cases reported on Saturday, Arunachal Pradesh tally surged to 7,250 with 1957 active, 5,280 recoveries and 13 deaths, state surveillance officer Dr L Jampa said.

The district-wise reported cases are: ICR-101 [41 from Itanagar paid quarantine testing centre, 24 TRIHMS, 20 from Banderdewa check gate, 11 from Zoo area CCC-SOA, 3 from Lekhi SQF  & 2 from Helipad,  tested by RDT-Ag(94), RT-PCR(7)]; Changlang-19 [4  APP personnel, 2 IRBN personnel, 2 Assam Rifle personnel, 7 from Jairampur township, 3 from Miao township & 1 HCW, tested by RDT-Ag (17)  & True Nat(2)]; Papum Pare-18 (16 from Gumto check gate & 2 from Hollongi check gate, tested by RDT-Ag); West Siang-15 [9 returnees from Uttar Pradesh, Assam & ICR, 5 military personnel from  QF & 1 primary contact of positive case detected earlier, tested by RDT-Ag(14) & True Nat(1)]; Longding-13 (4 military personnel returnees from Nagaland & 9 returnees from Diyum, ICR & Tezu, tested by RDT-Ag); East Siang-7 (5 from Pasighat BPGH,  1 GREF person & 1 driver from Ruksin check gate tested by RDT-Ag); Lower Dibang Valley-6 (4 GREF personnel returnees from Karnataka, Bihar & Delhi, 1 returnee from ICR & 1 primary contact of positive case detected earlier, tested by RDT-Ag); West Kameng-6 (3 military personnel from Dahung MH, 2 from Balemu check gate & 1 from Bhalukpong check gate, tested by RDT-Ag); Lower Subansiri-6 (5 primary contacts of positive case detected earlier & 1 returnee from ICR, tested by RDT-Ag); East Kameng-4 (2 primary contacts of positive case detected earlier, 2 driver & handyman from check gate, tested by RDT-Ag); Pakke Kessang-3 (from Seijosa CHC flu clinic, tested by RDT-Ag); Namsai-3 (2 returnees from Delhi & Bihar & 1 from check gate, tested by RDT-Ag); Upper Subansiri-2 (from Daporijo DH flu clinic,  tested by RDT-Ag); Upper Siang-2 (from check gate, tested by RDT-Ag); Lohit-2 ( returnees from Assam, tested by RDT-Ag); Tirap-3 (from Khonsa GH flu clinic, tested by RDT-Ag); Kurung Kumey-1 ( returnee from ICR, tested by RDT-Ag), Dr Jampa added.

AONS adds: With 107 COVID-19 positive cases detected in Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) on Saturday, DMO Dr Madip Perme exhorted to people to remain alert and strictly adhere to prescribed standard operating procedures (SOPs) to prevent spread of the virus.

Of total 915 tests – 863 rapid antigen test (RAT) and 52 RT-PCR conducted till 6 pm, 107 tested positive (98-RAT) and (7-RT-PCR) and (2-Truenat), he disclosed.

The 125 RAT tests were conducted at TRIHMS of which 18 tested positive while results of 13 RT-PCR awaited. Of 89 from Lekhi CCC, 18 tested positive and of 84 RAT of Zoo Road CCC, 11 tested positive, he added.

Of 263 RAT at Ashoka testing centre, 39 tested positive and 39 RT-PCR results awaited. Of 237 RAT at Banderdewa check gate 25 were detected positive while two staff of Helipad were positive, he said.

Of 761 active cases of ICR, 451 patients are in Lekhi CCC, 72 in Zoo Road CCC and 29 in Chimpu DCH while 209  in home isolation.

Meanwhile, State Surveillance Officer Dr L Jampa, said that since ‘Unlock-4’ started from September 1, people have been coming out openly for which the state has  been witnessing spike in COVID-19 cases.   However, he informed about adequate stock of medicine, including oxygen.
