One more dies of Covid-19 in Arunachal, death toll rises to 37  

Itanagar, Oct 29 : One more Covid-19 patient expired on Thursday in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the death toll to 37.

As per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS),  a 56-year-old man died at around 0340 hours at DCH, Pasighat on Thursday. He was tested positive for Covid-19 at Bordumsa on Wednesday and was suffering from Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus. He was referred to DCH, Pasighat from Namsai with severe respiratory distress.

The body was handed over to the relatives after proper sanitization and wrapping in the body bag as per protocol for performing the last rites, it said.

On a positive note,143 Covid-19 patients were discharged, taking the total recoveries to 12623.

While the state’s caseload rose to 14668 with detection of 88 fresh cases of infections.

Of the new positive cases , 32 were reported from Itanagar CapitalComplex (ICC), 12 from East Siang, nine from West Siang, four each from Upper Subansiri, Papum Pare, Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) and Lohit, three each from Tawang, Upper Siang, Tirap and Changlang, two each from Pakke Kessang and Lower Subansiri, one each from Kra daadi, West Kameng and Longding.

All the cases are asymptomatic except 59.

Active cases stand at 2008.
