ITANAGAR, Nov 21: The Confederation of Service Associations of Arunachal Pradesh (CoSSA), in a memorandum on Saturday, has urged chief secretary to exempt teachers from duties of ensuring PRI and Municipal Corporation elections.
Pointing out that students have suffered due to suspension of classes in view of COVID-19 pandemic, it said that the class-X & XII classes reopened since November 16 as per Cabinet decision and the teachers are engaged.
Though, the State Election Commission has notified simultaneous election to PRI and Municipal Corporation, but engaging teachers on election duties would badly hamper classes resulting in poor performances in CBSE-2021 examinations.
Thus, the CoSAAP, on behalf of state Govt. employees, parents/students, make this plea in greater interest of students, the memo added.
