NAHARLAGUN, Nov 21: The 500-bedded Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIMHS) hospital-cum-college set up in 2017 admitted its first batch of 50 students on August 1, 2018, but clearly indicated its growth as its College Council Committee, was in session here on Saturday under the chairmanship of Microbiology professor Shyamal Kumar Bhattacharjee.
The Council, highest administrative body of TRIMHS and mandated to meet four times in a year, usually takes stock of prevailing situation and recommends steps for further improvement, internal sources told this daily.
The College conducted recruitments for dean and faculty members during November 19 and 20 when 53 had appeared.
The seven-member recruitment board of experts headed by state’s health secretary Dr Parthiban, including GoI retired director general of health Dr Rabindra Nath Salhan and director Dr Moji Jini, interviewed eight candidates for dean post; pediatricians [3-professors & senior resident (SR) 1]; anesthesiology (professor-1, AF-2 and SR-1); chest & respiratory (SR-2); obstacian & gynecology (AF-1); dentistry (AF-11); physiology (AF-6); general medicine (professor-2); community medicine (AF-6) and junior residents (10).
