NAHARLAGUN, Feb 22: Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Mama Natung Monday appealed appeal the officers and officials of government departments, to go for daily workout so as to remain fit with a healthy body and sound mind.
The minister observed that the officers and officials even if they are busy with their normal official duties, should try to manage minimum time for daily exercise at their respective place of work or at home.
“Exercise is good for health which makes the human body strong, healthy and sound. If one is healthy, he can work comfortably in any environment and weather condition,” the minister pointed out, adding, in such cases no disease can also affect such persons.
He said, in rural areas most of people do exercise through their daily works but in case of urban areas, people could go to parks for walking and exercise.
“We have renovated several small parks in the capital city and the department is also trying its best for creating sports infrastructure where youth can take part,” Natung added.
The minister visited the helipad recently and assured the staffs to provide sporting items and requested them to play games and sport after their duty which would be a boost for the Fit India Movement.
