Arunachal gets ‘Performing State’ tag in PM-KISAN implementation

ITANAGAR, Feb 24: The union Agriculture & Farmers Welfare ministry has awarded Arunachal Pradesh as the best ‘Performing State’ in implementation of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme among the northeastern states and hilly region for achieving highest percentage of Aadhar seeded beneficiaries for the year 2020-21.

The percentage of Aadhar authenticated beneficiaries in the state is 98 per cent.

Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, presented the award at New Delhi on Wednesday in a ceremony organized to celebrate the second anniversary of successful implementation of PM-KISAN Scheme, official sources informed.

State Agriculture Minister Tage Taki and state nodal officer for PM-KISAN Idar Nyori received the award on behalf of the state.

The state agriculture department is the nodal department for implementation of PM-KISAN scheme which was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, 2019.

Under the scheme an income support is provided to all eligible landholding farmers’ families across the country to enable them for taking care of the expenses related to agriculture and allied activities as well as domestic need.

The scheme also provide an income support of Rs. 6000 per annum to an eligible farmer after receipt of verified data of farmers and their validation through Aadhar and Public Financial Management System (PFMS).

Congratulating the department Taki said that the award authenticates the efficient implementation of the scheme and sheer dedication of entire team of officers and field functionaries who worked sincerely and tirelessly to achieve the milestone for the welfare of farmers of the state.
