- COVID-19 status reviewed
ITANAGAR, Apr 08: Governor Brig. (Retd) B. D. Mishra reviewed the COVID-19 status with Chief Minister Pema Khandu when the latter called on him at Raj Bhavan here on Thursday.
It was decided to make the best effort to check spread of the virus while they stressed on necessary precautions about using e face mask, physical distancing and frequent hand washing.
Dr Mishra also advocated early completion of Hollongi Airport project and Miao-Vijoynagar strategic road.
However, he commended the CM for undertaking tedious journey by road including by trekking to Gandhigram and Vijoynagar to reach out to the people of remote areas. The Miao-Vijoynagar road has to be completed at the earliest for the safety and security of eastern part of the state, he said,
Dr Mishra informed about various issues he had discussed with the Union government in New Delhi recently. He also hinted about the prime minister’s vision to open 100 new sainik schools in the country.
The state should for new sainik schools with plan to provide full infrastructure, he said, adding the new schools should be located in border districts and developed on the day schooling pattern with a high standard of quality education and good physical and sports training. It will be a boon for parents and students in border areas.
