Jodpur Cycling Club in Anjaw, Kri flags off 7-day expedition

TEZU, Apr 08: A seven-day cycling expedition in bordering district of Anjaw was flagged off by local MLA Karikho Kri from circuit house on Thursday morning.

Terming cycling as best exercise for body and mind Kri also said that the expedition would give firsthand experience of hidden treasure trove of Arunachal to the mainstream adventurers.

Bicycling is one of the fastest growing outdoor recreation and nationwide tourism and Arunachal is no exception. To give a boost in this expedition, Thus, a cycling club of Jodpur from Rajasthan with members Renu Singh, Praduman Singh and Anubhau Sinha arrived accepting  the challenge to venture into the hot biodiversity of Arunachal Pradesh.

“We are first time in this Himalayan state of India and accepted the challenge of tough topography and harsh landscape to promote venture tourism. This expedition is a outing free from hassle & bustle of city life. Arunachal blessed with diversity in culture, natural beauty and hot biodiversity. We closely feel it”, said  Renu, who has the feat to peddle over 1500-km in five days in December last.

Among other Youth affairs director Ramesh Linggi, district sports officers Roy Mihu (Namsai) & BC Das (Lohit) besides other officials were present.

AONS adds: It may be recalled here that Bollywood actor and Arunachal Pradesh Tourism Ambassador Salman Khan along with Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Union MoS  Kiren Rijiju on 23.11.18 had cycled through scenic hills to promote  Mechuka Adventure Festival, n initiative of state Speaker Passang D Sona.

Khan intended to promote the state as a destination for adventure tourism and local people had showered him with love and affection.
