AALO, Aug 30: The West Siang district child protection unit on Saturday organized a daylong orientation-cum-training programme on Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012 and Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015 for the Special Juvenile Police Units (SJPU) of West Siang, Shi-Yomi and Leparada districts here.
The event organized under the guidance of district child protection officer Bahi Koyu had Chief Judicial Magistrate Habung Tangu, CWC chairperson advocate Gorik Kamduk, SPP advocates Karken Angu and Murtuza Ansari participate as its resource persons.
Matters related to the role of Juvenile Justice Board, latest amendments in the Arunachal Pradesh Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rules, 2020, roles of investigation officers in POCSO cases etc were discussed at length during the programme.
Discussions on the POCSO Act and problems faced by police officers were the other highlights of the day.
