RGU to conduct annual convocation on Nov 30

RONO HILLS, Nov 28: Rajiv Gandhi University (RGU) is all set to conduct its XIXth convocation in a row on November 30 next in blended mode.

The university has a unique practice of conducting the annual convocation on a fixed date every year.

In the convocation, a total of 7,664 students comprising PhD (33), M Phil (06), PG (913) and UG (6,712) degrees would be conferred with degrees.

The gold medalist, PhD and M Phil students would receive the degree physically while rest of the students including UG and PG would be awarded degrees in virtual mode via Google Meet.

The gold medals for topper of each department and subject would be given to 31 PG students and 29 UG students. Moreover, Chancellor’s Gold Medal and Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medals for over all toppers of PG and UG respectively would also be awarded in person during the convocation.

Governor Brig (Retd) Dr B D Mishra, who is also the Chief Rector of the central varsity, would preside over the convocation.

Padmashree Prof Jagmohan Singh Rajput, former Director of NCERT will deliver the convocation address while state Education Minister Taba Tedir will also address the gathering, a press release informed here on Sunday.
