Riga organises Sarkar Aapke Dwar, airgun surrender programme

RIGA, Nov 29: The services of thirteen government departments were offered at Riga during the second ‘Sarkaar aapke dwaar’ camp in Siang district on Monday.

Pangin-Boleng MLA Ojing Tasing who inaugurated the programme, while interacting with the departmental officials and the public, called for ‘Sabka Prayas’ alongwith ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ for building a self-reliant Siang district.

“Everyone’s effort is important to boost the local economy and built self-reliance,” Tasing said and emphasised on financial literacy for better livelihood opportunities and asked the farmers to ensure registration for horticulture and agriculture schemes.

In his address Siang DC Atul Tayeng laid emphasis on increasing health insurance coverage under the CM Arogya Arunachal Yojana. He also implored the public to avail other health-based schemes like antenatal care, nutrition, and maternal and child health benefits.

Various government departments provided services including, renewal and issue of ration cards, payment of electricity bills, issue and collection of old age pension, disability, maternal benefit, and widow pension forms, issue of MGNREGS job cards, income, scheduled tribe, and permanent resident certificates among others.

Free health check-ups were also conducted during the camp where medicines were distributed besides issuing forms under CM Arogya Arunachal Yojana and PM Jan Arogya Yojana for health insurance, distribution of pesticides, registration of farmers, Aadhaar enrolment and seeding, and payment of electricity bills.

Financial literacy initiative was also undertaken by opening new bank accounts and enrolment into pension schemes.

Information, education, and communication activities were also conducted on PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Dulari Kanya scheme, Swachh Bharat Mission, schemes covering agriculture and allied sectors, awareness on adoption and children in conflict with law, and legal awareness on domestic violence and other crimes against women.

Meanwhile, an air gun surrender abhiyan was also held throughout district during the day where eight air guns were surrendered at Riga.

Tasing and Tayeng planted tree saplings to mark the event. The forest department also distributed 120 free saplings at the event.  (DIPRO)
