CRPF battalion repairs school toilets

KHONSA, Dec 29: To reach out to the masses of Tirap district and to provide help, the 36 Battalion CRPF organised a civic action programme on Wednesday during which its troops repaired and renovated toilets of boys, girls and staff of Government Higher Secondary School Khonsa and dedicated them to the school authorities in presence of Khonsa East MLA Wanglam Sawin.

That these toilets and urinals were in pathetic condition and the staff and the students were not able to use them.

Commandant Pawan Kumar Singh, addressing the students said toilets are vital for every human being. Dirty toilets or bathrooms can lead to serious health hazards and cause diseases.

“Also, to ensure dignity and privacy of staff and children, toilets and urinals are essential,” he added.

Deputy commandant MS Yadav, SMO Subrata Mondal and others were present.

Speaking on the occasion, Sawin appreciated the CRPF battalion for rendering yeomen’s service to the school. He lauded the efforts of the force and said that renovation of toilets and urinals was needed in the school for effective use.

“This is an initiative from the CRPF to establish peace and harmony in the society,” he added.

The efforts were highly appreciated by the teachers, students as well as local administrative heads who showed their willingness to support in unit’s endeavour to bring peace and normalcy in the Tirap, Changlang and Longding region. (DIPRO)
