All assured coop during bandh: DC

ITANAGAR, Jan 12: Itanagar Capital Complex )ICC) DC-cum-district magistrater Talo Potom, in an executive order, has declared 36-hour bandh call proposed by All Nyishi Youth Association wef Thursday as illegal and directed the said organization to call off the bandh.

Series of meeting were convened by him with corporators, ZPMs, SP led team, executive magistrates and representatives of Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli & Banderdewa Market Welfare Association, ACCI, AAPPTF and others.

Moreover, ANYA executive members were also called to office on Tuesday and urged to call off the bandh. However, it was informed later in the evening that ANYA has decided to go ahead with the bandh.

As the SP notified u/s 3 of Arunachal Pradesh Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act, 2014 to detain illegal bandh callers as preventive measure and one of them was arrested and produced before him and remanded to judicial custody for 12 days, Potom informed.

Assuring that adequate security measures have been made, he said that more than 50 magistrates have been deployed for the bandh to immediately arrest those found involved in the illegal bandh. Moreover, it has been directed to suspend mobile, internet & wifi services to prevent serious law and order problems.

He informed that all corporators, ZPMs and traders’ bodies and others have assured full cooperation during the bandh period.
