Mega Food Park to give new thrust to industry sector

ITANAGAR, Feb 27: The Mega Food Park (MFP) under Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana (PMKSY) of Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries, located in 75 acres of land at Dolikoto, Banderdewa will come up with 35 different food industries.

This was a success under leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and the land was donated by lead promoter  Likha Maj.

The state Govt. would offer necessary connectivity, like road, water, electricity etc. as per the MoFPI guidelines.

Construction of 4-km four-lane road, 50 acres of land development for setting up of 35 units of ood industries has been completed by the lead promoter while work for electricity supply is on.

State’s industries department has been constantly monitoring its work progress while planning & investment department may take steps to bring investors to set up food industries.

The MFP, once commissioned, will generate large direct and indirect employment avenues for the youths while giving a major boost to industry sector of this region. The farmers of the state will find an outlet to market their agri-horti produces that would end wastage of perishable items.

The MFP requires 1440 MT of Guava (Lalit) variety and pineapple of yellow queen variety (fibreless) & other seasonal fruits, like kiwi, apple etc. in a month. Individual Quick Freeze (IQF) facility will require vegetables, like beans, bamboo shots, king chilly, okra, green peas, cauliflower, carrot, spinach etc. of  720 MT per month.

These were observations of Ministers Tumke Bagra (Industry), Alo Libang (H&FW), industry secretary Hage Tari,  industry director Taru Talo,   town planning director Likha Suraj,  IMC commissioner LikhA Teji and SJETA director Yumlam Kaha, who were accompanied by Likha Maj.
