Awareness on Nidhi Aapke Nikat held

TAWANG, Feb 27: The Guwahati-based employees provident fund office on Monday conducted a day-long awareness programme here, under Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0.

The observer for the programme from EPFO Delhi Apurva Gautam, expressed his satisfaction on the gathering of participants which included registered contractors, casual labours and employees from various departments despite ongoing Lossar festival and sub-zero temperature of Tawang.

Speaking about Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0 programme, he informed that under the programme the Centre is aiming to go to the public at their doorsteps to give awareness regarding EPF schemes. He asked the participants to place their grievances and doubts if any during the interactive session.

Tawang DC Kesang Ngurup Damo said that people could get a thorough knowledge of EPF schemes from the concerned officers at their doorstep through the programme.

He further said that all the casual workers irrespective of organisation in which they are engaged should be covered under EPF scheme which is compulsory.

The registered contractors should get it done and open EPF account of all workers under them, he said and expressed his hope that this would be very beneficial to all the casual workers in days to come.

DRDA PD Tenzin Jambey asked the participants to clear doubts on availing benefits of EPF schemes from their employees and further informed that they could also contact senior accountant of DRDA for any clarification regarding EPF in days to come.

Earlier in his welcome address Sujoy Bhattacharyya from EPFO Guwahati, informed that the Centre has launched the Nidhi Aapke Nikat programme in January this year and it has now been decided that on 27th of every month the awareness programme would be conducted all over country. (DIPRO)
