Trainees batch flags off for IT skill training

ITANAGAR, Feb 27: Under the initiative of state IT and Communication department, a flag-off event was held on Monday at a city hotel here, for the third batch of the government sponsored IT skill training programme.

SCITeG Chairman Doni Nich flagged off the third batch in presence IT secretary Anirudh S Singh and other officers of the department.

The department of IT and communication in association with training partner Valeur Fabtex Pvt. Ltd in Guwahati, is implementing a project IT BPO (Business process outsourcing) where, unemployed youth from different districts of the state are undergoing a free 4-months residential training for getting employed in domestic and international process in the BPO, Call Centre and various MNC’s in India.

The flag off ceremony was organized for those candidates who got the opportunity to join training program this time.

The IT Council Chairman thanked Chief Minister Pema Khandu for tthe initiative of 4-month residential learning programme at Guwahati training center funded under the IT Skill programme of the state government which would focus on the development of IT-based skills with proper professional training in the BPO/Call center sector for the unemployed youths of the state.

IT Secretary Singh in his speech informed about the growing demands of BPO in the North East region and said that if more youths are skilled and trained in the field, it could benefit the development process.

Skill development is a vital tool to empower people, to safeguard their future and for the overall development of an individual. It is an important aspect that enhances employability in today’s globalization. Skills are as essential as one’s academic status. Education and skills should now go hand in hand, the secretary added.
