4 nabbed in ATM attempted robbery case

ITANAGAR, May 25: The capital police on Thursday apprehended four persons in connection with the ATM theft case that had occurred in Banderdewa at around 3 am on  May 25 last.

Talking to this daily, ASP Thutan Jamba said that though detainees could not succeed in the theft, they damaged the ATM beyond its repair.

Without disclosing the names of detainees, as the police is investigation the case to gather more information, he informed that on receiving  information about group of people were trying to rob the ATM, city control room responded and rushed to the place of occurrence and apprehended two persons on the spot.

Subsequently, following revelation by the duo, another two persons was apprehended who were absconding, he added.

Considering the seriousness of the case and possible involvement of other persons, he said that intensive investigation would be carried out, including their mobile phones records.

Informing a case has been registered with Banderdewa PS, he urged capital complex dwellers to inform the police control room as soon as possible, if they find any such activities.
