PRC can’t approve Dalai Lama’s next reincarnation, says Khrimey

ITANAGAR, Nov 19: Tibetan activist-cum-writer Tenzin Tsundue, addressing Tibet Support Group of Arunachal Pradesh (TSGAP) executive body meeting at Gonpa Guest House here on Sunday, termed its efforts for greater cause of humanity, particularly Tibetans suffering across the world.

Highlighting struggle for freedom of Tibetan, he said Tibet was a free country but forcefully occupied by People’ Republic of China (PRC) for the Tibetans lose their freedom.  The Tibetans supported by the TSG movement should intensify their struggle for the desired change, he said, adding “Tibet ka azadi Bharat ka surukcha” (Tibet freedom to ensure India’s security) and support for Tibetan cause should not be on mercy but for prosperity of Tibetans as well as India.

He said that maximum TSGs in India wish freedom of Tibet, but lack of awareness on Tibet served as a drag. “Tibet issue is not taught in schools for which the younger generations do not know about China policy,” he said, adding support to Tibet or not is a political issue awareness is essential.

While TSGs across the world have been advocating that China should free Tibet for all Tibetans in exile to return to lead decent life in own country, Tsundue, in his maiden visit to the state, had given orientation training to younger writers of the state during  5th edition of three-day Arunachal Literature Festival celebration here on Saturday.

Arunachal people are emotionally connected with Tibet as Tibetans have been migrated from the land where our forefather were born, TSGAP president Tarh Tarak, said in his presidential address, adding he was inspired to support Tibetan cause after visiting all areas of the state bordering Tibet and interacting with the people.  He reiterated his support to the cause and work as per direction Core Group for Tibetan Cause India (CGTCI).

He hoped that the team spirit would achieve the goal and lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu for all round development of the country reflecting team spirit.

Highlighting CGTCI activities, national convenor-cum-former MP R K Khrimey said that many organizations have been demanding freedom of Tibet while some groups demanding autonomy from the PRC.

But we as activists want solution on Tibet, he said, adding His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is the longest guest of GoI. The Tibetan refugees neither encroached an inch of land in India nor demanded Indian citizenships, but have been struggling for Tibet’s for freedom and a permanent solution. Thus, the need of hours is to spread awareness about Tibet cause and issues among younger generation of India, especially Arunachal Pradesh, to raise their voices louder.

This neighbouring Himalayan state is deeply concerned over the annexation of Tibet by PRC for which its voice would be more effective, he said and lauded formation of a new team of TSGAP led by Tarak.

China has raised issue of approving next Dalai Lama which is serious matter, he said, adding approval of next reincarnation of Dalai Lama is an institutional matter and there is no rule for China to approve it.

Tibetan refugees cannot be compared with Chakma-Hajong refugees in the state, SLMC chairman Anok Wangsa said and urged the new team to spread mass awareness about the Tibet issues to get their support at all levels.

Enlisting objectives of TSGAP, secretary general Nima Sange support to Tibetan cause on humanitarian ground is the main motto, which is important for India. Informing activities initiated by Central Tibetan Administration for Indian people to mark beginning of 60th year of His Holiness Dalai Lama landing in India, ‘THANK YOU INDIA-2018’, a yearlong observation with blessings of His Holiness, Tibetan people across India intend to say ‘Thank you India’ with a series of Pan-India events, including peace march and public events

TSGAP office bearers and host of well-wisher were present, according to a press release.
