DNGC & APEDA train students to promote energy efficiency

ITANAGAR, Nov 20: Dera Natung Government College (DNGC)’s physics department joined hands with Arunachal Pradesh Energy Development Agency (APEDA) to promote energy efficiency and awareness.

They conducted a day-long retailer training-cum-workshop in college campus here on Monday toeing standards of labelling set by Bureau of Energy Efficiency under Union Power Ministry.

APEDA deputy director Asi Linggi, in his inaugural address, highlighted significance of star labelling for electronic appliances. Informing about global commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070, he advocated collective responsibility to create a sustainable and safer Earth for future generations.

DNGC principal Dr. M. Q Khan, in his presidential address, lauded APEDA’s initiative in raising awareness among students about energy conservation and efficiency. Energy plays a vital role in our daily lives, he added.

Energy auditor of IVENCO EWSA SERVICES Rana Pratap Poddar, as resource, conducted an interactive training session and acquainted participants with standards and labelling protocols for electronic appliances while stressing on BEE star labelling and rating system.

Three highly technical sessions offered valuable insights from a consumer perspective followed by a quiz competition. Thupen Eton, Minyir Ingo and Chello Nimey secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.

Nearly 100 students, faculty members from various departments attended the event, coordinated by Dr. Hage Doley, according to an official release.
