Tourism awareness & tour prog held

 PALIN, Nov 28: Tourism department in collaboration with Kra Daadi district administration, organized a two-day tourism awareness programme, themed ‘Dekho Apna Pradesh’, for Kra Daadi, Kurung Kumey & Kamle districts, which concluded here on Tuesday.

Hosted by Todo Tour and Travel (TTT) in partnership with tourism department, themed ‘Destination management through upskilling and responsible practices’, begun with a trekking from Eching to Solo village, fostering tourism awareness along the route.

It was kicked off with a ‘gender equality pledge’ and aimed to guide the masses in developing tourism with a cautious and informed approach, drawing lessons from experiences from other parts of the state.

Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS) Kra Daadi branch in collaboration with TTT facilitated an exclusive library tour program to ‘Club 2021 Public Library Palin’, e lone public library of the district for the tourists under Dekho Apna Pradesh.

The team delved into knowledge, wisdom and technical aspects of home stays while stressing to boost local tourism economy by empowering local community, particularly women. The team also visited Byabang Heri Govt HSS here and Duri Govt. SS to raise awareness among students about tourism and their responsibility in promoting eco-friendly tourism.

Formation of Yuva Tourism Clubs was initiated in both schools to catalyse responsible tourism in the region.

Tourism deputy director Bengia Manna Sonam led the team while resource persons were environmental activist and director of NGO Nature Beckons  Soumyadeep Datta, a representative from Union Ministry of Tourism, senior tour operator and founder chairman of APTOA Tsering Wange.

Participants from various walks of life, including potential home stay owners, community leaders, local representatives, Govt officials and students were actively engaged in the event, according to an official release.
