APUWJ forms NWJC with Chetry & Sarkar as convenor and co-convenor

ITANAGAR, Nov 29:  The Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) to raise collective voice on issues confronting non-working journalists employed in state’s different print and digital/electronic media houses formed Non-Working Journalists Cell (NWJC) on Wednesday.

The Dawnlit Post advertising & marketing manager Ganga Ram Chetry and The Arunachal Times circulation manager Tarini Sarkar were appointed as its convenor and co-convenor.

The NWJC would be a dedicated branch under the APUWJ concerning non-working journalists’ staff issues, like job security, basic rights and safe working atmosphere in respective media houses besides facilitate issues being faced by APUWJ members.

The non-working journalists comprise of those working in non-news sections, like management, marketing, DTP, printing and circulation of print and digital/electronic media houses.

The appointment were made after a long deliberation by non-working journalists with Arunachal Press Club (APC) president Dodum Yangfo, vice President Bengia Ajum and general secretary Damein Lepcha on their issues, in a meeting convened by the APUWJ..

The APUWJ also urged the state Govt to allocate separate corpus fund for non-working journalists of the state.
