NSCN (K-YA) frees 2 abducted workers

ITANAGAR, Nov 29: Two workers, who were abducted by armed cadres of militant group NSCN (K-YA) on Kunsa Pongchau road from a makeshift labour camp near Tisa river in Longding district, were finally released on Tuesday, highly placed PHQ sources told this daily on Wednesday.

The abducted duo identified as junior engineer Sashank Kumar Yadav and PANSA supervisor Liamgao, working under BTRF Project contractor Shatrughan Singh,were abducted by three armed cadres of the militant group on November 16.

They were abducted and taken to Kunno zero point in a Bolero pickup truck, left the vehicle there and had reportedly moved towards Indo-Myanmar border.

The entire kidnapping was reportedly carried out by NSCN K-YA self-styled Lt.Col Botai Wangsu and self-styled Lt. Abojak Wangnow of faction, the sources added.
