Guv tells Pangsau Pass border guarding forces to remain alert 

ITANAGAR, Dec 30:  Governor Lt. General (Retd) K T Parnaik, who visited Pangsau Pass border post in Changlang district on Saturday, advised the security forces to be alert and vigilant to avert any untoward incident in the area of their responsibility.

After being briefed about the terrain and existing situation by 10 Assam Rifles commanding officer Col. Jetendra Mehta and DC Sunny K. Singh, Parnaik interacted with security forces and asked them to reach out to local people to develop civilian-military bonhomie.

While interacting with GoAP officials, GBs an PRI leaders, he urged them to facilitate registration of all eligible beneficiaries of welfare schemes before ensuing Republic Day. He also administered Viksit Bharat Sankalp pledge to the gathering after exhorting them to take part actively in Viksit Bharat vision of Prime Minister  Narendra Modi.

Expressing his concern overt drug addiction among the inhabitants, he urged them, especially women SHGs to work in a mission mode to eradicate the menace and eradicate TB  as Ni-kshay Mitra.

When the GBs and PRI leaders highlighted their problems, he recommended restarting of border trade at Pangsau Pass to their applause and fadvocated execution of alternate Nampong-Gandhigram-Vijoynagar road from security point of view.

Local MLA Laisam Simai and DC Sunny K. Singh highlighted various achievements in the district.
